Your employees' data stays theirs.

Here's exactly what an employer can see through WorkWell MSK — and what never leaves an employee's own account. Not as a policy promise, but as how the platform is actually built.

What an employer sees

  • ✓ Total number of employees enrolled
  • ✓ Total check-ins submitted across the company
  • ✓ Low, Moderate, and High risk check-in counts, company-wide
  • ✓ Estimated absence-cost impact, once baseline data is provided

What stays with the employee, always

  • ✓ Their individual symptoms and pain scores
  • ✓ Which specific exercises they've been prescribed
  • ✓ Anything they've told a physiotherapist
  • ✓ Their name, next to any of the above

Why this isn't just a policy

It would be easy to promise this in a privacy notice and build the platform some other way underneath. WorkWell MSK doesn't work like that. There is no report, export, or admin screen anywhere in the platform that shows an employer one employee's specific health information — because employer-facing screens are only ever able to calculate totals, not look up individuals.

An employee's own record is only ever reachable from their own account. That's not a setting that could be switched off by mistake — it's the way the underlying data itself is structured.

If a feature can't be built without breaking that boundary, it doesn't get built. That's been true throughout, not just at launch.

Focused work at a desk

Occupational health services work differently

Everything above describes the WorkWell MSK platform, which only ever shows employers totals. Our occupational health services, workstation assessments and return to work support, are about one person at a time, so they cannot work that way.

An employer receives an individual's report only with that employee's consent, and it is limited to what supports them at work, such as recommended adjustments, rather than clinical detail. See the occupational health services.

Using the platform never obliges anyone to use these services, and a check-in is never passed to an employer because someone has used them.

Handled with UK data protection in mind

WorkWell MSK is UK-based, and designed around UK data protection principles from the ground up — not added afterwards. The platform was also built by a practising, HCPC-registered physiotherapist, so the person who decided what counts as sensitive clinical information is the same person who decided how it should be protected.

Have specific questions about data handling for your organisation? We're happy to talk it through directly — including exactly how the platform keeps individual health records separate from employer reporting, at the structural level, not just as a setting that could be switched off.
